Quickstart
About five minutes from install to your first monitored automation.
1. Install and add the board view
Install Automation Monitor from the monday marketplace. On any board, click + next to the board views, choose Apps → Automation Monitor, and approve access when asked. The view has three tabs: Fleet (every monitor and its health), Inbox (new heartbeats waiting to be named) and Settings (alert channels and plan).
2. Add a heartbeat to an automation
- Open the automation you want to watch in the automation builder.
- After its last action, add Log heartbeat to Monitor.
- In the Monitor field, choose New monitor for this automation, or pick an existing monitor if several automations should share one.
- Save the automation.
3. Name it and set the expectation
The next time the automation runs, its heartbeat shows up in the Inbox tab. Give it a name and set how often it should run, for example every 1 hour, 10 minutes grace, or a business schedule such as weekdays 09:00 Europe/London. From then on it appears in Fleet.
4. Choose where alerts go
In Settings, monday notifications are on by default. On Pro and Scale you can add email addresses and Slack incoming webhooks. Every missed run opens an incident and sends alerts. The next successful run resolves it and sends a recovery alert. You can acknowledge an incident so the team knows someone is on it.
Good to know
- Pause a monitor during planned downtime so it doesn't alert.
- If Automation Monitor loses its connection to your monday account (for example, the installing user leaves), we email the fallback address on your account so you can reconnect.
- Viewers and guests can see monitor health but can't change anything.
